We were invited to attend the Dare to Dream GospelFext event yesterday in Brooklyn New York. We had a table in which we represented our handmade jewelry and handknit and crochet accessories. There was were speakers that day to also speak on various topics and there authors present speaking about their experiences and signing books, followed by a gospel concert. I am grateful to Funmilayo who graciously accompanied me to the event.
Here is a picture at the beginning of the event.
I had a wonderful time talking to people and listening to their stories about what they love in accessories, as well as comments about my creations. Something has to be said about the process of designing a piece, making it, and then putting it out for the world to see it, to touch it, and see themselves with it.
Here are some pictures of some of the wonderful people that I met which also gave some of our African flavored Olubunmi Creations, a forever home.
Thank you so much Melinda for your support and you look fantastic with your Memories of the Sea earrings.
Some of the checkered hand knit hats with pom poms also found themselves with a fantastic home. Thank you so much Tanzia and Tremaine, I hope that you enjoy your hats! They look good on you!
Here is one very happy person with their own handcrafted necklace. Annette was also one of the organizers of the Dare to Dream GospelFest event. Thank you so much for supporting Olubunmi Creations and other entrepreneurs.
It was a pleasure for me to attend the event. I met so many wonderful people, spoke with great entrepreneurs and enjoyed the atmosphere. Thank you so much for inviting us to participate. We look forward to attending future events within the community.
